Studio Gorgon — About

I design from what's already there, not from a blank page.

Every site, brief, and material already contains most of the answer — the work is reading it carefully enough to find it. That belief shapes how I approach a ruin in Kayaköy the same way it shapes a ring: reduce until only the necessary is left, then make that necessary part expressive.

Berke Girgin

Architect — Vienna, Austria

I'm an architect based in Vienna, currently working in practice while building Studio Gorgon — my independent practice exploring architecture beyond the built project, structured around four pillars: Work, Atlas, Journal, and Objects.

Careful observation, research, writing, photography, and making all contribute to a deeper understanding of place, and inform the way I approach design. I'm also developing a computational and AI-assisted design workflow to bring into both practices.
